Our Matte Black Doughboy lid has a unique take on a brimmed hat with a twist allows the wearer to be on the cutting edge of novelty helmet design. It is created to be worn forward or backward depending on the wearer.

Description
Mike’s Pro Lids is a proudly American owned company.
Because or lids are designed to be worn forward or backward, Mike’s Pro Lids do not fit like a traditional helmet. We use an open-cell foam in the liner which compresses without adding much pressure to the head. The liner is removable and washable.
Mike’s Pro Lids are a novelty lid and do not have a D.O.T. certification.
Mike’s Pro Lids are designed to look like a baseball cap. We did not want the lid to look like a perfect dome so we added “dents” to look more like a ball cap. However, scratches are not part of the design and may occur during shipping. If you receive a lid with scratches, please email us at [email protected] and we’ll get it fixed.

This is a great alternative to wearing a normal helmet. Granted, it’s not DOT Certified, but it’s better than those big ol piles of junk that are being sold as half helmets.

OK I would’ve given a five but there’s a couple issues that I have with it. One there’s a little bump up on the very top of the helmet that really poke my head. Very annoying. I can pretty much sand that down and I’m OK with that.
The lining inside seems a little loose. If the chinstrap, I think we can use a little bit improvement. However, I’m not an expert in that. Other than that it’s really hard to find a helmet in my size. So overall, I really don’t have any complaints. It’s better to wear the hat, backwards and forwards and high speeds a chance to kick your head back and make a weird loud sound piercing your ears. But when the helmet is backwards, the problem doesn’t exist. Other than that. I’m pretty happy with it doesn’t look like I’ve got a big nut head on top of my head.
