Our Matte Black Doughboyย lid has a unique take on a brimmed hat with a twist allows the wearer to be on the cutting edge of novelty helmet design. It is created to be worn forward or backward depending on the wearer.

Description

Mike’s Pro Lids is a proudly American owned company.

Because or lids are designed to be worn forward or backward, Mike’s Pro Lids do not fit like a traditional helmet. We use an open-cell foam in the liner which compresses without adding much pressure to the head. The liner is removable and washable.

Mike’s Pro Lids are a novelty lid and do not have a D.O.T. certification.

Mike’s Pro Lids are designed to look like a baseball cap. We did not want the lid to look like a perfect dome so we added “dents” to look more like a ball cap. However, scratches are not part of the design and may occur during shipping. If you receive a lid with scratches, please email us at [email protected] and we’ll get it fixed.

    This is a great alternative to wearing a normal helmet. Granted, it’s not DOT Certified, but it’s better than those big ol piles of junk that are being sold as half helmets.

To be honest, only thing I didnโ€™t like is the liner material is a little rough when you first start wearing it. But that is easily solved by use and/or a bandana. Which I normally wear to keep sweat out. Love this thing, especially cuz it fits in my saddlebag perfectly!

    OK I wouldโ€™ve given a five but thereโ€™s a couple issues that I have with it. One thereโ€™s a little bump up on the very top of the helmet that really poke my head. Very annoying. I can pretty much sand that down and Iโ€™m OK with that.
    The lining inside seems a little loose. If the chinstrap, I think we can use a little bit improvement. However, Iโ€™m not an expert in that. Other than that itโ€™s really hard to find a helmet in my size. So overall, I really donโ€™t have any complaints. Itโ€™s better to wear the hat, backwards and forwards and high speeds a chance to kick your head back and make a weird loud sound piercing your ears. But when the helmet is backwards, the problem doesnโ€™t exist. Other than that. Iโ€™m pretty happy with it doesnโ€™t look like Iโ€™ve got a big nut head on top of my head.

    Very fast shipping, and the option of 2 inserts and even removable at that to wash is a great idea! Lid fits great, and does not fly up like most others at high speeds. True customer here and I can honestly say I love the fit of this helmet! I donโ€™t even take it off at quick stops because it feels like a regular hat!

    The helmet fits great and it’s awesome you send 2 liners, the only thing I dislike is that when you wear it forward it would be nice if you adjust the straps, they basically are in line with my ears when it is forward and in perfect place when backwards! Otherwise I’m very pleased!

    Definitely a sleek profile looking helmet. I would recommend maybe a think gel pad on the top inside the helmet because it does hurt a little touching top of helmet with the skull but itโ€™s fine and also definitely get these helmet DOT certified so more people will buy them.
